YCT Yea. Motion to table bill requiring the attorney general to establish a toll-free Environmental Hotline to receive information on violations of environmental laws. The bill would require the attorney general to compensate individuals up to $1000 for reporting information leading to criminal, civil, or administrative penalties for violations. Sufficient mechanisms already exist with the TNRCC for enforcing environmental laws. Thus, the Environmental Hotline proposed is unnecessary, and adds to the state budget.
