22. SB 359 - Howard Amendment

YCT Yea. The amendment strikes a provision, that would have included “family child care homes” (those few private homes used to monitor small numbers of children) under the regulatory umbrella of the Department of Protective and Regulatory Services. This department is designed to regulate commercial day care facilities, not private homes. Family childcare homes should be free from over regulation so that families have greater choices in seeking quality childcare.
