YCT Yea. The bill would have sunsetted this bill on September 1, 2003. This bill protects firearms manufacturers, trade associations, and sellers from government lawsuits relating to sales of firearms to the public. Gun manufacturers and dealers should not be held responsible for the violence in our society. The passage of this amendment would have opened the gun dealers and manufacturers up to lawsuits by municipalities beginning September 1, 2003.
