YCT Yea. The bill would have set up penalties for persons convicted of drug- and alcohol-related crimes who receive financial assistance by the state of Texas. The penalties inflicted by this bill would have been only a slap on the wrist to those convicted of these crimes. YCT believes that no persons convicted of drug- or alcohol-related crimes should be given financial assistance under any circumstances.
