11. HB 1006 - Casteel Amendment

Adoption.  Amendment 15 by Casteel. RV 371, April 21, 2005, p. 2112 Amendment 15 adopted 87 – 53 – 1.

YCT Nay. Amendment 15 weakened HB 1006 by requiring the bill’s budget limitations to be indexed for the Municipal Cost Index. The MCI is an inflation index, which is published by a municipal government magazine. YCT believes that municipalities should operate under meaningful budget restraints to keep the public’s property taxes low and that magazines should not influence those limitations.
