YCT Yea. This amendment requires the Legislative Budget Board to conduct a study evaluating the effect of changing the constitutional and statutory spending limit based on the rate of growth of the economy to a spending limit based on the sum of the rate of population growth and the rate of monetary inflation. Such a change would better limit the growth of government by using more precise criteria. It is important that Texas continues to ensure that we manage spending increases in government correctly and in a way that promotes fiscal responsibility.
