YCT Nay on Motion to Table.  Amendment 234 would have de-funded the “cancer research” spending authorized by Proposition 15 in 2007, which YCT opposed. While cancer research is obviously an important activity, it is not an essential function of government. During tough fiscal times, it is important that government fund those services which people rely on for their health and safety. YCT believes the state should leave cancer research and treatment up to the market and to charitable causes
