YCT Nay. HJR 61 would have decreased the frequency of elections for District Judge from every four years to every six years. YCT supports the direct election of judges and opposes any effort which would makes elected officials less accountable to voters. Decreasing the frequency of judicial elections would make judges less accountable to voters.
