YCT Yea. Amendment 50 would have abolished the Emerging Technologies Fund. YCT opposes any fund which spends taxpayer money, taken from the economy, for the purpose of “economic development.”   However, the Emerging Technologies Fund is even more problematic than other programs, such as the Enterprise Fund and Music, Film, Television, and Multimedia Fund, because it funnels taxpayer funds to already bloated institutions of higher education to promote projects of dubious merit.
