SB 1257 requires coverage providers to cover the costs of medical injury or gender reversals. This will potentially discourage insurance companies from covering gender transition surgeries and treatments due to risk of having to also cover reversals and injury. YCT favors continuing to protect Texans, especially those under the age of 18, from medical “gender transitions,” including through the use of surgery, hormone therapy, and puberty blockers.
