Motion to Suspend Regular Order; May 24, 2011; Journal Page 3515: 19 Yeas, 12 Nays


YCT Yea.  HB 12 would have banned cities from establishing “sanctuary city” policies or from prohibiting the sharing of information regarding immigration statuses between federal and local authorities.  Illegal immigration is a serious problem and must be addressed.  One of the first steps in tackling this serious problem is eliminating misguided local policies which perpetuate it.
