YCT Nay. SB 617 would have prohibited an individual from performing or offering to perform an energy efficiency evaluation, providing an energy efficiency report, or providing a recommendation regarding HVAC system design on covered premises, defined in the bill as a new home, existing home, or light commercial building, unless the individual is licensed with the state. YCT opposes the requirement and creation of further licensing and regulation.
