YCT Nay. SB 722 would have increased election fraud and damaged voters’ rights to a secret ballot by allowing an entity conducting an election to select an interpreter for a person voting. Under current law, one can bring a registered voter with whom they are familiar to interpret for them. YCT opposes measures that could lead to voters feeling pressured or coerced to vote a certain way.
