YCT Yea. This
bill ultimately decriminalizes truancy by completely repealing current law
related to that of truancy and creating an entirely new civil process. YCT
supports the decrease of exposure of Texas youth to the Texas Criminal Justice
System. YCT believes in establishing a proactive system that identifies issues
that cause student truancy then works toward the goal of preventing these
issues in the future.
