YCT Nay. This
bill would amend the Government Code to create an Advisory Council on Cultural
Affairs in the Office of the Governor to advise on furthering the economic,
social, legal, and political contributions and equality of the Hispanic population
of Texas. YCT is opposed to this legislation as we do not believe it is the
role of government to choose one demographic over another for focusing its
efforts.
