YCT Nay. SB 518 would have given businesses the ability to qualify for a franchise tax credit if they employ certain high school students as paid interns. Once the internship was completed, the business would receive a $1,000 credit for each intern that completes the internship. YCT does not support this bill because we believe that tax dollars should not be used to subsidize private sector internships.
