YCT Yea. This bill reduced the License to Carry application fees for first time permit applications and renewals. For a state that supports the second amendment as much as Texas does, the fact that we had one of the nation's highest application fees for handgun licenses was appalling. The non-renewable application fee was reduced from $140 to $40. While we do not support the 50 percent fee reduction for senior citizens and indigents because it favors certain groups over others, this is the right step in eliminating fees for everyone.
