Passage; March 28, 2017; Journal Page 733; 22 Yeas, 9 Nays

YCT Yea. After passing the Senate, SB 23 was unfortunately left in the House Calendars Committee. If it would have passed, this bill would have required state contractors to participate in the E-verify program. The bill would have ensured that any state agency was not doing business with a contractor who was violating the law.
YCT supports any and all legislation that expands the use of E-verify to curb spending tax dollars on business with illegal workers.
