Passage; March 30, 2017; Journal Page 828; 18 Yeas, 13 Nays.

YCT Yea. SB 3 would have created two voucher-like programs to subsidize the cost of private school tuition or homeschooling expenses. The first program, the Education Savings Account, would have given parents, who's household income is less than $75,000, access to online accounts to pay for tuition and other expenses of public money. The second program, the Tax Credit Scholarship Program, allows businesses to credit their insurance premium taxes in exchange for donations to certain scholarships. YCT believes in school choice not only to give parents more power in their children’s education, but to increase competition between schools.
