YCT Nay. Senate Bill 132, created a trust fund for the Texas Economic Development Bank. The Texas Economic Development Bank offers further incentives and subsidies to groups creating jobs in Texas. This program would be operated outside of the control or insight of the Texas Treasurer's office. More problematic, it's an example of the Texas Legislature once again choosing to operate a program that is funding a government program designed to award corporate welfare and engaging in cronyism by picking winners and losers in the free market place. For these reasons, YCT opposes this bill.
