HB 1186: Expanding Regulated Gambling

YCT Nay. Under current law, a single bingo prize is prohibited from valuing more than $750 and cannot value more than $2,500 on a unique bingo occasion. HB 1186 attempted to increase the prize money. YCT believes that the issue of the expansion of gambling (in this case, carryover pull-tab bingo) has little to do with liberty and everything to do with increasing the size and scope of government. While we do not agree with the burdensome regulations of industries, gambling would create large bureaucratic agencies that would grow the size of government exponentially.
