YCT Yea. It has been hypothesized in some liberal circles that a viable alternative to property taxes would be to impose a state income tax. HJR 38 would prevent that and make imposing a state income tax unconstitutional. YCT supports such action because evidence has shown income taxes, on top of being burdensome to the taxpayer, slows down economic growth and adds significant bureaucracy to collect the taxes and inadvertently leads to more taxes to pay for the taxation itself.
