Passage; May 26, 2019; Journal Page 3907;  31 Yeas.

YCT Yea. The joint resolution's goal is to aid people in crisis areas by giving them relief of their taxes. In short, the bill provides people in areas designated as “disaster regions” with an exemption from taxation for as long as that area stays a “disaster region.” This bill has garnered YCT support because it allows people who are already undergoing significant financial stress caused by a natural disaster a complete break from taxes. This will enable homeowners to focus on more urgent problems in their life without government-induced anxiety. YCT supports this because we believe and support any action that leaves money in the hand of those who earned it.
