Passage; May 26, 2021; Journal Page 2128
YCT Nay. HB 1525 provided over $200 million in additional funding to Texas public schools annually without making any significant positive reforms that YCT supports, such as student-based funding or school choice. YCT has numerous priorities to reform the Texas public school finance system to fund students rather than systems. We are not opposed to funding public education; we are opposed to additional funding without significant positive reform.
