SB 1145

Senate Journal Page: 1425
SB 1145 authorizes a county or city to adopt a property tax exemption for child-care facilities. YCT opposes any government program designed to award corporate welfare or engage in cronyism by creating winners and losers in the market and YCT opposes government welfare programs that disincentivize independence, work, earned income, best financial practices, or other virtuous behavior such as marriage and family building. YCT thinks policies which result in subsidizing families who choose to have both parents work outside the home at the expense of families who make the honorable financial sacrifice of having one parent stay home full-time are particularly egregious.
