Senate Journal Page: 2024
Currently, to become a licensed residential wireman, one must have 4,000 hours of on-the-job training and pass the residential wireman exam. HB 1391 expands eligibility for a residential wireman license to students who complete a career and technology education (CTE) sequence of courses on the electrical trade and pass the residential wireman exam.YCT favors continuing to do away with the one-size-fits-all approach to education by increasing options for students to pursue careers in skilled trades by earning training and workforce certifications demanded by the local market.
