SB 8 would have created an education savings accounts program which parents would use to purchase the educational services that best meet their child’s needs. SB 8 also included many reforms to increase transparency and parental rights in public schools. YCT supports increasing parental choice in education, preferably through the implementation of education savings accounts in which funding follows the student to the education services of his or her parents’ choosing. YCT also supports increasing transparency of curriculum, classroom activities, and district initiatives, as well as prohibiting the teaching of radical gender theory and other ideas contrary to the definitions of natural man and woman.
